22nd December, my Wii came ^_^ not bad for having preordered it 2 or 3 days after release I reckon. In total it cost me £320 for the Wii (Pacakaged with Wii Sports), a 2gb SD card, classic controller (For retro downloadable games) 2000 Wii points (To buy said games) Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz and Rayman: Raving Rabbids. What strikes me first off is that amount of these chaps : is there any need?
I’m a bit let down with Monkey Ball, the the interractive credits are a nice touch it seems to serve bugger all purpose but its captain dull like. Raving Rabbids is a good laugh when your around other people, else its reasonably dull as well and annoying when your trying to hammer throw Daisy the cow over 60 metres and you always manage to throw the bitch backwards into a rabbit
Twilight Princess. I played it for half an hour yesterday (Granted 20 minutes of that I was on the phone to miss Jen and was just accidently skipping dialogue) and it struck me as another captain dull. But I persevered with it today for an additional 3 hours and its picking up a bit. Maybe its just because I’ve never been a Zelda fan. Anyhow I’m at the first dungeon now getting helped by a couple of monkeys but I figured I’d take a break from it for the time being and come up here as I fancied some GTA-age (Another post to follow)
Wii Sports, its probably my favourite game on the Wii that I own. I love the Mii’s. In fact, half the reason I just came off the Wii is because my mother foolishly turned the Wii off at the plug last night and the magic that is (hopefully) WiiConnect24 couldn’t work its magic. You see, even when the Wii is turned off, its still on apparently downloading updates when they appear and doing various other things I haven’t paid attention to. Other than the Mii Parade. I’ve set my Mii’s to mingle. Means when I’m not playing with that Mii character, hes off wandering around other friends in my lists Wii’s having a ball. Popping up in the crowds of their games. Making up the numbers in their team at baseball, things like that. So in essence my Mii could be passed around and end up on some Japanese games developers Wii kicking his arse at boxing (If I understand the whole thing right) which is fairly leet
Anyhow, I digressed from Wii Sports. Using Mii’s you’ve created, or the default Mii’s that come with your Wii (My personal favourite being Martin who I lovingly refer to as Blind Martin) you participate in 1 of 5… essentially, mini games: golf, baseball, boxing, tennis and bowling. Using the Wiimote in different ways, jabbing with the nunchuk adaptor in boxing, serving a ball in tennis, erm… bowling in bowling. If only the game was a bit fuller it’d be great. Its so watered down. Boxing only lasts 3 rounds for example, golf 9 holes instead of the usual 18, baseball just seems to end randomly (Though I don’t fully grasp the rules of baseball so it might actually be right) Sure enough with a few people and more Wiimotes I bet its class, but currently thats where the Wii is shining for me, a party console. And it ain’t much of a party with one Wiimote, unfortunatly Wii Play is out of stock everywhere in Whitehaven as is the nunchuk extension so I’m waiting for that to come back and I can jump on it and get me one
Which brings me to another topic. I’ve finished again at Gamestation. Courtesy of my shingles I’m now into my second week on sick. By the time I could get back theres no point keeping me employed as far as i see it, I’d only be able to work maybe one day and then I’d be finishing anyhow. So we agreed to end me again, though no doubt I’ll end up back there one day
Anyhow, this is a monster post where I inadvertently reviewed every game I have for the Wii. Wasn’t what I set out to do but my fingers just kept on typing. Theres another post coming up in a bit as well but I wanted a seperate picture for that. So until then…
